Eddie who? The Beagle, you say? If they only had a defense and a little fewer cement-heads, they might make it through. We’ll be in pretty good shape if Lalime would just stay in his friggin net and not do retarded Brodeur impressions. But I digress, it was an impressive performance by Belfour, but I don’t know if it’ll be enough to get through the playoffs.
But apparently he inspired the Leafs to remember how to play defence (cf. 17 saves), which has to count for something. I don’t care if he never faces a shot – if we win with him in goal, he’s done his job.
I know he’s a good goalie, I’m just not sure the 3-0 win was directly related to his return. Let’s face it, the HABS beat NJ in their next game. The Devils are not having a good time right now. Let’s see what happens with Boston. If Eddie pulls off another one, then I’ll start believing.
Anytime you can keep all the pucks out of the net, there’s a good chance you did something right. I’m not a fan of Belfour (Leafs definitely, just not so much some of their personnel), but after watching the woblly-ass job Trevor Kidd performed, I think it’s fair to say Belfour gives the team the confidence it needs that someone’s covering the net while they’re generating offense and taking chances. That alone will help ‘em win games, regardless of how well Eddie performs. But that’s just me.
Amen, brother.
[sounds of me spreading banana peels carefully throughout the walkway to the Leafs' dressing room]
Isn’t it enough that their defense already looks like The Slapstick Revue on the ice? :-)
Okay, I can overlook some things (like Javascript), but being thankful for Belfor is just plain kitten eating wrong. You sir, are a bad, bad man.

He made 17 whole saves, eh? All by himself?
